A Green Initiative
Imagine a world where nothing goes to waste, not ever. Where the words “garbage” and “litter” become relics from another age––like “record player” or “phone booth.” Well, that day is rapidly approaching, thanks to recycling and a heightened worldwide corporate awareness.
The M.A. Folkes Co., Inc., in partnership with Xerox Corporation and MillerCoors Brewery, makes certain that all shipping pallets are returned for unloading, dismantling, sorting, cutting and repurposing for similar or alternate uses. If any piece of wood is deemed not reclaimable, it is shredded and used as garden mulch.
M.A. Folkes has also opened its doors to accept and adopt any used lumber for the same purpose. As a result, we receive scrap wood every week. We’ve even created a machine that cuts both wood and nails simultaneously. Most facilities can shred one or the other, but not both.
Other concentrations are equally impressive. M.A. Folkes Co., Inc. subscribes to ISO International Standards to ensure not only that products and services are safe, reliable and of high quality, but also that they minimize leftover goods.
Since the first designation of Earth Day in April, 1970 (now an annual event), we’ve all become keenly aware of environmental concerns––protecting our air, water, forests and wildlife by making certain that almost nothing is termed disposable.
Recycling is both practical and patriotic. Practical because it alleviates the clogging of landfills. It saves time and money. Patriotic because it makes us and our clients more responsible in a civic, community sense. Together we’ll improve our environment by saving trees, eliminating overconsumption and increasing the breathability and lifespan of our planet. Someday soon, in fact, we’ll likely find ways to reuse absolutely everything.
